Scraps Scrappy Scrappier...

I have been stressed by many things lately but allowing myself to stress about being over run by scraps just won't do!

So...I have been on a mission to beat these bags of scraps down.

I will succeed!

Pat Sloan has many scrap busting tips.

String quilts are always a great way to do those scraps in.

Which of course leads me to Bonnie Hunter, the Queen of Scrap Elimination, well maybe that doesn't read well...but you know what I mean.

I believe this tute will be the start of my reducing the stash:
String X from Bonnie Hunter

However I believe her Sister's Choice will be made at the very same time, using lots of 9-patches as leaders and enders.

Hopefully taking photos of Autumn's Hexies today, good chance of no rain!

26 February 2013...I say that with a certain finality, that this month WILL end!

Happy there are only a couple days left of this month, historically not a good month for me....

Happy Birthday Dieter! (deeter)

Happy "I have finished Autumn's Hexies quilt"! ("film" at 11)

Have a great day... Piece out....

Enough of February already...

Too much drama for me.

Bomb squads.

Plumbing issues.
(I'll save you the graphics.)

Winter-brrrr-cold weather.

On the upside...(cuz there's always an upside)

 I have my car back,
after the rear end accident in January.

I have almost finished D-G-D's birthday Quilt.

Today I made a big pot of Positively Splendid's 150 calorie veggie soup.

Don't worry. Keep Stitching! Piece out...

I took a day off!
I've been very stressed lately and it felt great!

My friend Ruthie came to visit, We talked. We ate. We stitched. We watched The Decendants.

We shopped for fabric...well...she did.

And on that note, I have to admit...I really enjoy watching other people shop for fabrics for quilting.

There is "that one fabric"...which leads to it's companion and another and another and before you know it they have built a quilt!

She may name it something different, but for now I can't wait to see her "Peacock Soup"...just sayin'.

...and I decided I needed more de-stressing today.

I will be honest.
I hate housework.
I really do.

...and trying to get ready for company, no matter who it is, is always a challenge for me to stay focused on what I am supposed to be doing.
I find fabric.
I find books.
I find more fabric.

...yeah, housework is not getting done.

My daughter will be returning from South Korea soon
and these wall hangings are my gifts for her "bosses".

My friend Resa said she wanted to see some quilting!

February, week one

First I was surprised it was February already and now I can't hardly believe we are one week into the month already. That said I have pretty much lost a whole week with no motivation...after the super bowl win where I had done some stitching Sunday and going down hill from there!

Progress...

...let's see what this weekend will bring,
after I get home from work tomorrow. Piece out!

Update

Wow! How time flies when you're not blogging!
Since my last post I have moved to Wilmington, North Carolina...and much of my stash is still in boxes. B-(

My focus this year is to finish finish finish...
Why?
I am feeling hindered by my UFO's taunting me, while I am wanting to create something new.
I just have to get a handle on my stash and my UFO's to justify allowing my creativity to start new things.
So...I have started organizing by level of completion.
Next I will knock them off the lists starting with the ones closest to completion.
Let's see how this goes!
1st up: Irish Baskets, only needs borders!

"Paisley's Blossoms"

"Paisley's Blossoms"
The latest baby quilt made for Abigail Paisley born 29 June 2011.
